Detailed Information:

The programme offers design students projects with a strong social context - designed to encourage academic enquiry, cross-disciplinary thinking and wider consideration of the role of the designer in the modern world.

The 2007/08 scheme has a range of exciting projects, including four which have been devised as part of a collaboration with NESTA Innovation Challenges focusing on health issues and community engagement. A village in southern India provides the context for another distinctive project developed with the EPSRC StoryBank research team, where the villagers have made a range of digital stories describing their lives to set the context for the brief. These, and all 16 of this year’s projects are now live on the project website.
